# Passenger (mod rails for Apache) launches - Host: [weblog.rubyonrails.org](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/hosts/weblog.rubyonrails.org/) - Saved: April 11, 2008 (2008-04-11T18:27:00Z) - Record: https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/00851850a7f7/ - JSON: https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/00851850a7f7.json ## From the page (probably an excerpt, not Jamie's words) The guys at Phusion has finally wrapped up Passenger, their mod_rails-like module for Apache. Its looking like a great, easy solution for people who want a more PHP-like deployment story. Just dump your files in a directory setup with a vhost and off you go. Touch tmp/restart.txt and the application is restarted. Doesnt get much simpler than that. ## Facts - Kind: [Page](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/kinds/page/) ## Same host - [Rails 2.0: It's done](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/23c84ff8ad79/) (weblog.rubyonrails.org, December 7, 2007) - [A taste of what's coming in Rails 2.1](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/40c2a8a02841/) (weblog.rubyonrails.org, April 1, 2008) - [Rails premieres on GitHub](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/5acae77563d9/) (weblog.rubyonrails.org, April 11, 2008) - [RailsConf in 36 minutes](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/706e9e143e9c/) (weblog.rubyonrails.org, June 2, 2008) - [Capistrano 2.4.0](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/3b2c36fc7f0e/) (weblog.rubyonrails.org, June 13, 2008) ## Saved the same week - [Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2 (Beta 3)](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/d0f015426bad/) (activewin.com, April 11, 2008) - [Rails premieres on GitHub](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/5acae77563d9/) (weblog.rubyonrails.org, April 11, 2008) - [DROPCLOCK](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/edd3b4d03aeb/) (scr.sc, April 11, 2008) - [Where Are All The Google Data Centers?](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/b096c822347a/) (techcrunch.com, April 11, 2008) - [Caffeine control](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/df7192fbe0f2/) (tuaw.com, April 12, 2008) ## Elsewhere - Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://weblog.rubyonrails.org/2008/4/11/passenger-mod_rails-for-apache-launches/
