## What Jamie wrote

The consensus building aspect that Senior Engineers play in organizations is frequently overlooked by people as they take these roles.

> Nemawashi is a tool for helping the organization do the right thing by default. The goal of a senior engineer should be to identify what those right things are and set the organization up for success by removing roadblocks.

Often times Senior engineers may take the approach of "let me show you how it’s done", and without building consensus with the very smart and talented engineers around you, the results often don't realize.

I also found this [Nemawashi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nemawashi) concept interesting. I've seen and done the practice, but didn’t know there was a name.
