# Farcaster — Decentralized social network built on Ethereum - Host: [farcaster.xyz](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/hosts/farcaster.xyz/) - Saved: February 5, 2024 (2024-02-06T03:07:46Z) - Record: https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/369d8c12c058/ - JSON: https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/369d8c12c058.json ## What Jamie wrote I signed up to try this out mostly because I was intrigued about the connection with Ethereum. It is like a mix of Twitter and Reddit together. It has channels that seem very similar to subreddits. Users can associate with their ENS names and bring Ethereum assets into their profiles. Otherwise it is a constant feed of tweet like messages. Seems tired and old really. Take Twitter, add a little Reddit, and use Ethereum for identity and verification. Maybe my reaction is just further validation that I’m really tired of timelines. ## Facts - Kind: [Page](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/kinds/page/) ## Appears in - [WT276: Weekly Thing 276 / Contextual, Copilot, Collections](https://weekly.thingelstad.com/archive/276/), Notable ## Mentioned by - [The end of my childhood](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/e7e4a7da9199/) (vitalik.eth.limo, February 1, 2024) ## Saved the same week - [How I Take Notes in One-on-One Meetings](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/db3a0c4a41f7/) (zsolt.blog, February 5, 2024) - [Why Tim Cook Is Going All In on the Apple Vision Pro | Vanity Fair](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/83c3ccaa0c84/) (vanityfair.com, February 5, 2024) - [Starlink's Laser System Is Beaming 42 Million GB of Data Per Day | PCMag](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/ff9ca28880e2/) (pcmag.com, February 5, 2024) - [Why I Moved My Blog from IPFS to a Server | Neiman’s Blog](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/a2a58b5702f7/) (neimanslab.org, February 5, 2024) - [Why using a Now/Next/Later roadmap might be right for you](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/ae6ff31f9e4c/) (elezea.com, February 5, 2024) ## Elsewhere - Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://www.farcaster.xyz/
