Its out of bankruptcy; its debt has been reduced from around $500 million to $100 million. And, maybe most importantly, its growing its readership in print and through digital and keeping an eye towards growing consumer revenue. ## Facts - Kind: [Page](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/kinds/page/) ## Same host - [Steven Brill: 2011 will bring ebook battles, paywall successes, and a new model for long-form articles » Nieman Journalism Lab](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/e959dd524fc7/) (niemanlab.org, December 13, 2010) - [Dave Winer: There’s no good place for a new Maginot Line for the news » Nieman Journalism Lab](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/f845a649842e/) (niemanlab.org, December 15, 2010) - [Five tips for citizen journalism from ProPublica’s new “crowdsorcerer”](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/4e4bbb897f64/) (niemanlab.org, December 22, 2010) - [Serendipity Day gives coders and designers the freedom to work on…well, anything they want, if they’re willing to show it off afterward.](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/c956baac2885/) (niemanlab.org, August 28, 2011) - [A Dutch crowdfunded news site has raised $1.3 million and hopes for a digital-native journalism](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/8d1247bd64d1/) (niemanlab.org, April 8, 2013) ## Saved the same week - [Netflix to Open Source Army of Cloud Monkeys](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/8624ed732679/) (wired.com, May 1, 2012) - [Money, Power and Wall Street](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/c4290eb8c647/) (pbs.org, May 1, 2012) - [Teardrop Times](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/658a0aa24989/) (teardroptimes.wordpress.com, May 2, 2012) - [Kids Code Camp - Teaching The Kids of Planet Earth To Code](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/0dbdaf37f956/) (kidscodecamp.com, May 2, 2012) - [JSONLint - The JSON Validator](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/d608e946ea6b/) (jsonlint.com, May 2, 2012) ## Elsewhere - Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.niemanlab.org/2012/05/a-twin-cities-turnaround-the-star-tribune-carves-a-path-back-through-growing-audience/
