Reading about success stories is fun, but you don't learn as much. This very thorough and transparent writeup from Anders Kierulf on the unsuccessful launch of SmartOthello is a worthwhile read. Certainly a couple of the issues he hit were just bad timing, but there is definitely stuff to learn from in this.
