## What Jamie wrote

Tratt goes through three different daemons that he has created for Unix systems and discusses the approach. Concludes with suggestions on how best practices for designing daemons, why they should be considered for solutions, and how to implement them. I’m always blown away by how many daemons run on a modern macOS machine. I just did a quick `ps -e | grep 'd$'` on my laptop and it catches 191 instances. Not all of them are daemons, but most are.
