What is the job of a camera? To create a great picture? Or to capture the view in front of you. I often hit the Magic Wand feature on my iPhone and the picture just pops. The colors come out, colors get warmer and more vibrant. But, that also isn't the scene that is in front of me. It isn't what I just took a picture of. There isn't a right or wrong answer to this in my opinion. I think it is just important to think of the job the photo you are taking has. It makes me chuckle to think that as I look at pictures from my youth and they are washed out color on film, my kids will look at digital images from their youth that are artificially bolder and brighter than reality was. ## Facts - Kind: [Page](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/kinds/page/) ## Appears in - [WT220: Weekly Thing #220 / Ukraine DAO, Nouns, Icebergs](https://weekly.thingelstad.com/archive/220/), Notable ## Same host - [iPhone 14 Pro Camera Preview: The Hardware Changes – Lux](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/fc899c29dccb/) (lux.camera, September 15, 2022) - [iPhone 14 Pro Camera Review: A Small Step, A Huge Leap — Lux](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/2589e7ad7b0a/) (lux.camera, November 3, 2022) - [iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Review: Depth and Reach](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/305bd78ed127/) (lux.camera, October 10, 2023) - [Introducing Kino](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/a9ded614eb81/) (lux.camera, May 30, 2024) - [What is HDR, anyway?](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/8f2434a37b44/) (lux.camera, May 15, 2025) ## Saved the same week - [DJI’s new Mini 3 Pro drone hits the aerial photography sweet spot](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/4d11723a5e6b/) (techcrunch.com, May 19, 2022) - [Lil Nouns DAO](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/f3ee829383a2/) (lilnouns.wtf, May 19, 2022) - [Luna Brothers, Inc.](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/b08f10009d48/) (cryptohayes.medium.com, May 19, 2022) - [Twitter Thread: Ukraine DAO History](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/ccca389cce38/) (twitter.com, May 19, 2022) - [Terra: To the Moon and Back](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/a8e473706806/) (notboring.co, May 19, 2022) ## Elsewhere - Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://lux.camera/iphone-13-pro-camera-app-intelligent-photography/
