  "note": "I've been a user of [1Blocker](https://1blocker.com) for years now. 1Blocker is one of my primary tools to protect my privacy on the web. However, it has historically only been useful as a content blocker in Safari. Now this new version has introduced an **on device** firewall capability that is super interesting. You have always been able to use a 3rd party VPN service to protect privacy, but I don't use this as I find the performance and usability impact too severe. This firewall operates totally on device, so performance is solid and it enables a blocking function at the network stack layer. This is an exciting new capability and will significantly improve privacy protections. 🔒",
