# Toward Better Master Passwords - Host: [blog.agilebits.com](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/hosts/blog.agilebits.com/) - Saved: June 25, 2011 (2011-06-26T00:14:00Z) - Record: https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/a35a5308c532/ - JSON: https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/a35a5308c532.json ## From the page (probably an excerpt, not Jamie's words) Your 1Password master password is extremely important. Although we take steps to thwart automated password crackers you should still use a strong, memorable master password. Password cracking tools are becoming more powerful every year, and too much is at stake in your 1Password data. Given the strength of the encryption we use, your master password is likely to be the weakest link in your 1Password security. Dont be too scared of that. Given how strong everything else is, it would be practically impossible to use and remember a master password that is actually stronger than 1Passwords encryption. ## Facts - Kind: [Page](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/kinds/page/) ## Same host - [Dropbox Terms](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/259ab8d542b5/) (blog.agilebits.com, July 3, 2011) - [A peek behind the Gatekeeper](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/314a840737b0/) (blog.agilebits.com, April 20, 2012) - [1Password 6 for iOS](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/3f0a59a08b92/) (blog.agilebits.com, September 16, 2015) - [Introducing 1Password for Families](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/e5010524c1e1/) (blog.agilebits.com, February 17, 2016) - [AgileBits Blog | Curing Our Slack Addiction](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/420c11a97730/) (blog.agilebits.com, April 20, 2016) ## Saved the same week - [WikiLove](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/34f3525bc4da/) (mediawiki.org, June 25, 2011) - [How to Actually Make Text Look Interesting](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/b56fd2edc0e5/) (getspace.org, June 25, 2011) - [Kind of Screwed](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/8faf37f2905d/) (waxy.org, June 25, 2011) - [AeroPress](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/173be115a66b/) (shawnblanc.net, June 25, 2011) - [Coffee: The Greatest Addiction Ever](https://links.thingelstad.xyz/links/93bce8f3b134/) (youtube.com, June 25, 2011) ## Elsewhere - Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://blog.agilebits.com/2011/06/21/toward-better-master-passwords/
