"title": "Poet Amanda Gorman Speaks at the Biden-Harris Inauguration 2021 - YouTube",
"note": "[Amanda Gorman](https://www.theamandagorman.com)'s reading of her poem \"The Hill We Climb\" at the Inauguration this week was incredibly powerful and a moment I will remember for a long time. I've come to appreciate the power that can be in poetry, and this is an incredible example of that. [Anderson Cooper's interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHhut5nhI8g) with Gorman has interesting back story and history behind it, and the [NY Times writeup](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/19/books/amanda-gorman-inauguration-hill-we-climb.html) is a good read as well. [Brad Feld posted the text](https://feld.com/archives/2021/01/the-hill-we-climb-by-amanda-gorman.html) of the poem in his post if you want to read it.\n\nGorman also has a TED Talk from 2018 (when she must have been just 20 years old?) titled [Using your voice is a political choice](https://www.ted.com/talks/amanda_gorman_using_your_voice_is_a_political_choice) that is powerful as well. Check out her [Wikipedia page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Gorman) for more information.\n\n\n\n",
