## What Jamie wrote

Moving your writing from one service to another can be a little challenging, and might require writing some small scripts, but it allows you to keep your content together. Instead of "starting a new blog", migrate it! I've done this I think five times. I also imported thousands of my Tweets into my blog after left Twitter (well before X) which was a little harder because probably half of that stuff didn’t make sense as a post. I fixed that over the course of regular [blog gardening](https://www.thingelstad.com/2023/09/04/blog-gardening.html).

There is another "backfill" too which is the [blog pensieve](https://www.thingelstad.com/2024/07/14/blog-pensieve.html) — create whole new posts in the past. If you have a photo from the past, with a reliable timestamp, why not create a post as if it happened on that day?
