Continuing our infrastructure updates: What’s changing in the coming months : r/modnews

Reddit's tagline is "the heart of the Internet". If that were the case they just broke it.

Because RSS is now a common surface for large-scale scraping and automated abuse, we'll stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13, 2026 while preserving moderation workflows that depend on it through supported alternatives.

Platforms embrace open standards like RSS when they are new because it is a way to get users. Then when they "enshittify" they cut the open web off. Reddit has been doing it for a while, this is just the newest version. They hide it in "large-scale scraping" instead of "we can't monetize your engagement" but we know the real why.

Poor showing Reddit.
